I’m Maya and I just turned 19. I do gymnastics every Tuesday and Thursday. I am trying to teach the little kids as the older kids help out the little ones so the teacher can spend more time with the older ones. Minuses the unlucky one who is helping the little ones.
I was helping the under fifteens group today as it was my turn. I was showing them how to jump and land doing a hand stand. This was easy for me as in was apart of one of my main routines.
The idea was you would go on the spring board and then jump of it and land doing a hand stand while spreading your legs. When landing it looks best when your hands are close together. This trick was one that had made me win a few contests so if I can teach them so can they.
Today was Thursday and it was hot also a concert was on so only two kids showed up. This was good as when teaching many kids it gets hard. Also the less there are the more I can concentrate on the few kids there are. All the older kids showed up so I would not get much out of the lesson with the teacher anyway.
I started by saying hello to Natasha and Gabriel who were the two kids. Then I showed them how to do the routine and how to land it. I was happy that I did it flawless the first time as it has been a while. The kids started of by doing it in sections. This was because the handstand landing was the end and there was a bit before that part. The had gotten nearly everything but the handstand...
