It was an awful thing to admit. For three days, Renee had been having the worst stomach problems. As well as she ate, as much as she watched her diet, she could not have regular trips to her dorm bathroom. She grunted, she pushed, and waited for minutes at a time, with very little results. She had tried laxatives, but after the first time, she decided that idea was NOT the way she wanted to go.
On a cold, bitter January's night, Renee came home from her usual hang-out with chick friends at about 9:30, 10:00 on a Friday. Luckily (or, unlucky for some weekends), the university was only a couple miles away from town, and all three of her suitemates had decided to go home for the weekend.
"Great, another fucking weekend with the dorm room to myself," Renee angrily said to herself, out loud. "Sure, go and party, don't invite your room mate, that's awesome, Brittnie, reeeeeaaaal cool." She kicked her dirty clothes around on the floor before falling on her butt into her futon. She huffed and puffed to herself, only making matters worse. She grabbed the TV remote, threw her blanket over herself, started up Netflix, and got settled in for the night.
After about four episodes of Bones, she began to feel that all-too-familiar discomfort in her stomach. Rubbing one hand over her belly button, she said to her troublesome tummy "WHY can't you just be normal? I mean, let me just use the bathroom regularly, yo- owwww, ow ow ow." Almost as if in protest, her stomach suddenly cramped, causing her to bend over in pain.
"Okay... okay, I'm fine. Maybe... yeah, maybe a nice shower will take my mind off of everything." Renee hopped up off of the futon, cursing to herself as she forgot about her painful problem. She grabbed a fresh set of clothes, placing them on her bed to put on after the shower. Grabbing a towel, she strolled to her window, closed the shades, and proceeded to strip of her clothes. Towel in hand, she glanced in the full-body mirror between her door and desk. "You know, besides these damn stomach problems, I'm not too bad..."
